A hookworm is a type of nematode and parasite that lives in the small intestine of it's host. It's host can range from cats an dogs to humans. There are three species of hookworm that can infect hookworms, they are Ancylostoma Duodenale, Necator Americanus and Strongyloides Stercoralis. On the other hand A. Braziliense and A. Tubaeforme infects only cats and A. Caninum infects canines. What was very interesting about the hookworm is that they do not possess a cardiovascular system (circulatory system). This is because it doesn't have much to circulate. A hookworm is a parasite that lives in the small intestine of its host. It's host can be anything from cats and dogs to humans.
