The Great White Shark is one of the most feared predators of the ocean. The sharks lifespan can reach up to seventy years or evenmore. Fully mature adult sharks can be up twenty-one feet in length and can weigh up toabout seven thousand pounds. The circulatory system of the great white is a very intricate system. Unlike humans who have a four chambered heart this shark only possesses two chambers. The heart of the great white is located in the head region S-shaped. The blood is pumped by the heart by different branchial artereies to the cappilaries in the gills of the shark. When the blood reaches the gills it is then oxygenated. Then the blood flows through the body again by branchial arteries and carried back to the heart by the veins.
